What are different kinds of air conditioners?

from:

A good ventilation and air conditioning system is very important to keep the house cool, comfortable and dry. Every house, office and building needs proper ventilation so that flow of fresh air remains continuous all the time and people living and working in it can breathe properly. If you are looking for home improvement it is essential that you pay primary importance towards ventilation of your house.

In this article we will discuss some types of AC:

Window Mounted AC

The sole purpose of any AC is to provide cooling, filtration and reducing humidity. The size of window mounted AC may vary from a cooling capability of 5000 BTUs to 12,500 BTUs. The window mounted AC are fixed on the window of a room or office and they start pulling the hot air and impurity out and keep the room cool and at low temperature. It is vital that you choose the correct size of AC according to your cooling needs. When you choose an undersized AC, you may not be able to enjoy full efficiency due to its small size. Due to increasing environmental pollution and raising alarm of global warming we experience 1 degree rise in actual temperature every year. AC and ventilating systems help in tackling the rising heat gently.

Portable AC’s

They are smaller in size and are not efficient in cooling a large area. They are often using to cool a small area falling between 400-450 sq. feet. It is build on wheels and can be easily moved from one place to another. The advantage of portable AC over fixed AC is that you can easily take them to any room you want. The portable conditioners have both the cool and the hot side in same unit. It is not installed permanently and has to be connected near some place like a door or window so that hot air released from it can escape easily. It comes in a dual or single vent. The dual vent AC circulates the cool air more rapidly and is more effective than the single dent AC. There are some drip models of portable conditioners whose water dray has to be cleaned and emptied after a day or two.

Window Fans

Window fans are also great source of air conditioning and do not contain any CFC’s as compared to the high cooling air conditioners. They allow a lot of fresh air in the room and throws out the stale and impure air. The general size for a window fan is 20’’. The large window fans are little fussy to install. There are smaller units also available in the market that are quiet easy to install. The window fans are very helpful in reducing the smoke and fumes in the house that is collected in the cooking process and the heat released by the electric appliances.

AC and ventilation is very essential part of home improvement and you must pay extreme importance towards installing them in your house while constructing it.
