from:When it comes to interior design and mental or physical health, following the principles of the Feng Shui color therapy is recommended. Actually, there are many people who follow these principles today and have managed to achieve balance and stability in their lives.
If you want to bring balance to your house you should educate yourself and learn the basics of color therapy. The balance and harmony associated with Feng Shui brings a powerful effect in your life and can completely transform your space and the way you live in it. Feng Shui color principles are not that complicated, once you learn the combinations and associations and can be extremely helpful to those who want to apply the healing abilities of colors to their space. Whether you want a dramatic or subtle change in your life, Feng Shui color therapy can give you the much desired outcome. Here is a guide for colors and the elements that they represent:
Fire, the powerful Feng Shui element is reflected through red, purple, orange and pink.
Metal is reflected through gold, silver, white and grey.
The Earth is reflected through earth and pastel colors and tones.
Water is reflected through black and blue.
Wood is reflected through green.
Now for some color therapy basics associating colors with the directions based on the Bagua Map.
South : South is combined with fire, therefore red and its variations. You can use candles, or build fireplaces. Ovens also add to the positive energy of this sector.
South-West: Pink is the main color here, or even the dark tones of yellow. Pink pots and objects are to be placed there.
West: Here you have to use white color and several tones of metal colors. Yellow and metallic objects can be placed here.
North- West: The best color here is white, while red colors are to be avoided. Ceramic pots and earth products complement this sector ideally.
North: Water is the element that goes with the North, therefore you are supposed to use black or blue colors. Fountains, aquariums and ponds are ideal for this sector.
North-East: The element here is earth, thus you can use all earth colors plus yellow. You should avoid metal objects though, because metal and earth elements tend to exhaust each other.
East: The main element here is wood and the basic color needed is green. Placing pots and plants is a great idea.
South-East: Green and wood are the color element combinations here. Plants, bamboos and fountains can improve the energy flow.
Before applying the Feng Shui colors you should always consult with the Bagua Map to check the corresponding colors. For every spot there is a particular color that goes with it to establish a good energy flow.
