Finding Garage Space

from:

Garages are usually the first place you store tools. Unfortunately, it’s not always easy to find them once they’re stored. That’s because organizing your garage is not always the first priority when it comes to home maintenance and home improvement projects.

Today, it is much easier than ever before to create an organized garage that provides you with a lot more space than you ever imagined. Storing your tools in your garage is a smart idea. It keeps them dry and away from the outdoor weather elements. They will last longer when properly stored and cared for. That’s why a home improvement project that organizes your tools is a good use of your time and energy.

When considering the most effective use of your garage space, keep these tips in mind when it comes to storing your tools:

1. Consider purchasing and installing a heavy-duty grid to customize your garage space. These flexible grids can be used for organizers and shelves with attach easily. The shelves, baskets, and organizers can be easily moved around depending on how you plan to use them. Installation is simple and hardware comes with each grid set you purchase. In minutes, you have the perfect surface to create an organized storage space for tools. You can purchase baskets, hooks, and other storage devices that attach neatly to the grids.

2. Tool racks are also an option. They easily hold all of your long handled tools in one convenient location. They are heavy-duty hooks that are coated with a cover that doesn’t scratch tools or handles. This coating also keeps tools in place and keeps them from slipping. They can be used to hang and store rakes, hoes, shovels, and other outdoor tools.

3. Just like the tool racks, you can also purchase hand tool racks where you can conveniently hang all of your hammers, wrenches, screw drivers, and other hand tools. These racks attach easily to your garage wall or on pegboard or tracks.

4. Bikes can be a nuisance in garages since they take up a lot room, tip over easily, and are generally in the way. Purchase a heavy-duty bike hook and securely store any size bike on the wall. These hooks save lots of room on the floor and take up little wall space. You can even find them for mounting bikes on the ceiling if bikes are not used frequently or for seasonal storage. Either way, a bike hook is a good way to free up much-needed garage space.

5. Loop hooks are another good storage device for your garage. Rather than having your garden hose wrapped around your feet, or extension cords meandering across the floor, use a loop hook to organize and secure them. They’re also good for storing ladders and similar items. They can be attached to grids or mounted as stand-alone on your walls.

6. Golfers often store clubs and golf equipment in their garage. While this is a good place to store, it is also a place where golf equipment can get battered, pushed, and banged around. Golf racks are easily installed. They can be stand-alone or mounted to the wall. Your clubs, golf balls, shoes, gloves, and other equipment are easily stored in one location. The racks are coated with a special coating to protect golf equipment from scratches and damage.

Don’t let your garage space go unused just because your garage is disorganized. Install grids, baskets, loop hooks, bike hooks, and other things to clean up the space. Get things off of the floor and take advantage of the walls and overhead space to organize your garage. You’ll soon find that your garage has a lot more room than you ever imagined.
